Temasek Foundation–NTUC Workforce Programme: LIT ASEAN Careers – a new initiative co-organised by Temasek Foundation and Young NTUC was launched by Minister for Culture, Community and Youth, Ms Grace Fu, on 5 October 2019! Young Singaporeans looking to acquire regional work exposure to enhance their skill sets participated in a 3 part programme at LIT ASEAN Careers: first, an ASEAN Conference highlighting key industry trends and development in ASEAN; second, an ASEAN Showcase sharing resources and information on business culture; followed by an ASEAN Mentorship.
DISCOVER YOUR X-FACTOR AND LIT UP YOUR CAREER PATH! A career discovery marketplace, LIT (Learning Is Triggered) DISCOvery, was launched in collaboration between Young NTUC and the Lifelong Learning Institute (LLI) by SkillsFuture Singapore, to help youths better discover themselves and encourage them to embrace the spirit of lifelong learning right from the start of their career journey. We were joined by approximately 800 youths and young working adults. Minister for Education, Ong Ye Kung also graced the event as Guest-of-Honour.
Participants had the the opportunity to join fellow young professionals to get equipped with skills that will bring them to the next level of their career. LIT Learning Circles feature a range of technical and soft skills learning sessions for the 4.0 working adult such as Big Data, Agile, Design Thinking and more.
Exclusive invites to high growth companies, participants get to hear industry insights first hand from industry leaders. Each learning journey allows you to learn more about different types of working culture and environment and have the opportunity to meet hirers in the company for potential job opportunities.
Participants get to explore different career pathways and be mentored by career guides from the Young NTUC Youth Career Network (YCN). With over 400 volunteer career guides, our peer-to-peer mentorship system provides mentees with a better understanding on how to make career choices and develop competencies needed to thrive in an increasingly complex work environment.
